I have the honour to acknowledge
the receipt of your telegram of the 13th
August, regaruing the appointment of cond
Assistant Auditor for the Colony, and to
inform you that I leam from the Director
of Colonial Audit that Mr. Harcourt was
reported in April last by a Medical Board
that he
to be suffering from tuberculosis, and
was on their advice granted four and a
half months' vacation leave at the
persible date, and recommended not to

return to Fiji. The Director is unaware
whether as the result of a further medical
examination in New Zealand, which he
understands hasbeen arranged for, r.
